Hamilton International Students
A COMMUNITY OF PEOPLE WELCOMING STUDENTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD TO HAMILTON
We are a group of Christians that want to help international students thrive in all aspects of life. Our aim is to serve the practical, social, and spiritual needs of Hamilton's international students through various weekly and monthly events as well as providing connections to the services of other like-minded organizations in our city.
Are you an International Student in the Hamilton region? Are you unable to receive government assistance (Canadian Emergency Response Benefit - CERB) or any other forms of support? We are here for you!
We are funded and operated by private individuals in our Hamilton community that wish to help out international students that don’t have any one else to turn to during this crisis
We are also supported by the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund and Hamilton Community Foundation.

EASTER FRIENDSHIP FAMILIES
Students can register to be hosted for dinner in a Canadian home during the Easter Weekend. If you register, we will do our best to find a Canadian family to host you sometime between Thursday, April 9, 2020 and Monday, April 13, 2020.
Once per month we host a dinner and games night at a local church close to McMaster University where students are welcome to meet and get to know other students and Canadian volunteers. Each dinner we play games, occasionally hear from guest speakers, and enjoy a delicious home-made meal.
Sports in the Gym is every Tuesday evening from 7pm - 9pm!
You are invited to join in on a weekly fun night of playing basketball, football (soccer), badminton, and volleyball
Once the weather warms up, we will head outside for sports outdoors
SOCIALS AND COMMUNITY OUTTINGS
These events are a great opportunity to meet new people while enjoying various activities. These events vary but may also provide an opportunity for students to explore parts of the city on short day trips with other students and volunteers while experiencing common Canadian past-times.
A couple of times each year students can sign up to join a Canadian family for a meal in their home during a traditional holiday. Students will experience what it is like to celebrate the holidays in Canada and get to know locals and other students.
